Global EPP

Research and Development

In order to continue the growth of engineering plastic materials, continuous development of both the product and the way they are processed is paramount. To maximise the available resource in this area, Research & Development employs four permanent staff as well as entering into collaborations with polymer departments of various universities.

In terms of product development the aim is to enhance or modify the generic polymer to form a range of materials that improve upon the properties of existing materials available in the market whilst still remaining competitive. Process development ensures optimum size availability, output rate and commerciality in relation to both cast, extrusion and rota-moulding production methods. New products and improvements in processing are launched continuously and there is no question that the key to sustained growth for Global EPP rests to a significant degree with the success of R&D.

It is down to the early successes of research and development that allowed Global EPP to launch the first truly self-lubricated cast nylon bearing material. Since then Global EPP has managed to remain the company to beat in terms of what is now an extensive range of engineering plastics.
