Pharmacuetical Bead Milling

The use of wet bead mills is a traditional means of reducing the particle size of active pharmaceutical ingredients. Global EPPs Technology division have been developing and manufacturing bead mills in partnership with one of the worlds leading pharmaceutical companies for approximately eight years. During this period we have successfully developed machines for the discovery stage through to the mass production stage. All machinery within this range is designed to meet the exacting regulatory and cGMP requirements of the Pharmaceutical Industry. The mills have an enclosed chamber system with an externally mounted pump feeding the product into the chamber, giving the finest grinding of the product materials whether high or low in viscosity. Agitators mounted on a shaft are designed to transfer energy within the chamber resulting in a high level of dispersion, reduction and with uniform distribution. All of our wet bead mills use operating components principally made from one of our own Global EPP products, CF016, a contamination and wear resistant material that withstands high temperatures and abrasive environments and meets the pharmaceutical criteria of a USP 23 VI plastic. The framework for the mills is made from 316 stainless steal for its anticorrosion properties. The mills can be supplied with either analogue controls or with PLC controls where all process variables can be controlled and monitored.
