Choosing the correct material for an application is often very difficult, which is why a team of highly qualified external sales engineers are on hand to advise our customers at every stage of their enquiry. In-house engineers and CAD designers are available to provide assistance with the design specification of a component. Three-dimensional modelling and visualisation software is employed in this respect. Material selection advice can usually be provided in most instances due to the vast experience gained from previous applications.
Consideration is given to all aspects of the intended use in order to select the optimum material. This will include mechanical, thermal, chemical and electrical demands as well as tolerances as a result. In addition environmental factors have to be considered such as UV resistance, water absorption and possible colour requirements. Price limitations for the application will usually be an important factor. Our R&D division utilise the latest equipment for the development and characterisation of new materials, which are sometimes required for certain applications. R&D also provides assistance in enhancing existing manufacturing and process methodology where required. Collaborations with leading polymer universities only adds to the wealth of support that this division can provide.
